Terms
Sidebop Terms of Service
Effective August 10, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Sidebop website, iOS app, accounts, shared Boops, and related features (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Our Privacy Policy explains how Sidebop handles information.
Eligibility and age
You must be at least 13 to use Sidebop. If you are not old enough to enter a binding agreement where you live, use Sidebop only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. Sidebop does not currently ask for or verify a date of birth. A source listing or venue may impose a higher age requirement, including an 18+ or 21+ rule, which you must check and follow.
Guest browsing and accounts
You may browse public events without an account. An account may be required to sync saves, taste choices, private Boops, and other personal features across devices. You agree to provide accurate account information, use only contact information you control or are authorized to use, protect passwords and verification codes, and tell us promptly about suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity through your account unless applicable law says otherwise.
Do not create accounts or request verification messages to harass someone, evade a restriction, test stolen contact information, or interfere with the Service. A requested one-time verification code is for authentication only and is separate from the recurring sidebop texts program described below.
What Sidebop provides
Sidebop is an event-discovery and planning service. It is not an event organizer, venue, ticket seller, transportation provider, emergency service, or guarantee that an outing will work as planned. Event times, locations, prices, availability, age limits, accessibility details, and source information can change. Always check the linked source or venue before leaving or buying anything.
Maps, travel times, distance bands, route rings, and plans are estimates. Conditions, closures, service outages, and your actual route may differ. Use ordinary care, obey signs and laws, and do not rely on Sidebop for emergencies, personal safety, or a time-critical trip.
Shared Boops and other contributions
A shared Boop link can reveal its plan, stops, roles, restrictions, settings, and participant activity to anyone who has the link. Share only information and links you have the right to share, and treat a shared link as public to its recipients. Do not include private addresses, credentials, confidential information, or another person’s personal information without permission.
You keep ownership of comments, names, reactions, and other material you submit. You give Sidebop a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, copy, display, format, and transmit that material only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service and shared experience. You represent that you have the rights needed to provide it. You may report a rights or source concern to hello@sidebop.com.
sidebop texts (when available)
sidebop texts are a separate, optional US text-message program that may be offered to eligible users. The program is not enabled merely because these Terms are posted. When offered, it may send recurring automated messages such as a reminder that an event you saved is approaching or an alert that a new event matches a geographic ring you explicitly chose. The public sidebop texts opt-in page shows the current in-app consent flow and prelaunch SMS status.
Separate, explicit opt-in
sidebop will enroll you in recurring sidebop texts only after you make a separate, affirmative choice through a dedicated opt-in control that is off by default. Agreeing to these Terms, entering a phone number, creating or using an account, or requesting a one-time sign-in code does not by itself enroll you. Consent is not a condition of purchase or of browsing, account access, or any non-messaging sidebop feature.
Frequency, charges, and content
Message frequency varies based on the events you save, rings you choose, and matching event activity; there is no fixed number of messages. Message and data rates may apply. sidebop texts identify sidebop as the sender and are limited to the subjects disclosed when you opt in. sidebop will not infer a ring or treat consent for authentication as consent for recurring alerts.
STOP and HELP
Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe from recurring sidebop texts. We may send one final message confirming the opt-out, then will not resume recurring texts unless you make a new, explicit opt-in choice. Reply HELP for help or email hello@sidebop.com. Opting out of recurring sidebop texts does not delete your account and does not prevent a one-time verification code you separately request for sign-in.
Delivery and carriers
You need a supported US mobile number and carrier. Delivery, timing, and availability are not guaranteed. Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Do not rely on a text as your only reminder or for emergency or time-critical information. If your number changes or is reassigned, disable texts and update your account before the number leaves your control.
Privacy and age-sensitive content
Our Privacy Policy describes how mobile numbers, consent records, and text preferences are handled. sidebop texts do not authorize alcohol-targeted messages. Because sidebop does not currently verify date of birth, sidebop will not use this program for alcohol-targeted promotions unless a legally sufficient age control or deterministic exclusion is in place. Independent venue and event age rules still apply.
Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to:
- break the law, violate another person’s rights, impersonate someone, or misrepresent your affiliation;
- harass, threaten, exploit, deceive, stalk, spam, or expose another person’s private information;
- upload malware, probe security without written authorization, bypass access or rate limits, or disrupt the Service;
- scrape, copy, or harvest the Service in an abusive way or outside the public access and agent resources Sidebop intentionally provides;
- remove source attribution or use Sidebop or third-party content in a way that falsely suggests endorsement; or
- use shared links, authentication, messaging, or event data for fraud, unsolicited promotion, or unlawful surveillance.
Sidebop and third-party rights
The Service’s software, visual design, selection and arrangement, and Sidebop names and marks are owned by or licensed to Sidebop and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Subject to these Terms, Sidebop gives you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose.
Event facts, photos, venue and organizer names, ticket listings, maps, and other third-party material remain subject to the rights and terms of their respective owners and sources. Sidebop’s display or link does not transfer those rights, sponsor an event, or imply endorsement. Third-party sites and services have their own terms and privacy practices.
Changes, suspension, and ending use
You may stop using Sidebop at any time and may delete a signed-in account through the app as explained on Support. Sidebop may change, pause, or discontinue a feature, and may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to address a Terms violation, fraud, security risk, legal requirement, or threat to people or the Service. Where practical, we will try to give notice.
We may update these Terms as the Service changes. We will post the new effective date here and provide additional notice when required. Changes apply prospectively; if you do not agree to updated Terms, stop using the Service.
Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Sidebop disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing. Sidebop does not warrant that the Service, event information, recommendations, plans, routes, messages, or third-party links will be uninterrupted, accurate, complete, safe, available, or suitable for you.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions. Nothing in these Terms limits a warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sidebop will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, opportunities, or outings, arising from or related to the Service, even if advised that such harm is possible. This limitation does not apply where prohibited or to liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Disputes and general terms
Before starting a formal claim, please email hello@sidebop.com with a description of the issue and the resolution you seek so both sides have a reasonable opportunity to resolve it informally. These Terms are governed by applicable law, including any non-waivable consumer protections where you live. These Terms do not impose arbitration, select a court or state, or waive any right that applicable law does not permit us to waive.
If part of these Terms is unenforceable, the remaining parts remain in effect to the extent allowed by law. A delay in enforcing a term is not a waiver. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the complete agreement between you and Sidebop about the Service unless a specific feature presents additional terms.
