Sidebop Privacy

Sidebop helps people find nearby events and open the source listing for something they may want to do tonight.

Location

Location is optional. Before you choose, Sidebop may use a coarse area inferred from your network address to lightly rank nearby-looking options. If you choose “Use current location,” the browser may share your approximate device location so Sidebop can better estimate what is close and rank event options accordingly. If you do not grant permission or current location is unavailable, you can choose an area instead.

What Sidebop stores

Analytics

Sidebop uses Plausible Analytics to measure aggregate pageviews and product actions such as choosing intents, adjusting filters, viewing results, setting location, and opening a source listing.

We do not send your precise coordinates, manually chosen neighborhood, or network-derived area to Plausible. Location analytics are limited to whether you used current location, picked an area manually, browsed without location, or had a network-derived hint available for ranking, and intent/filter analytics are limited to the option ids and counts needed to understand which choices people use.

Event data

Event listings are aggregated from external sources and may change. Always confirm details on the source listing before you go.
